The Sustainable Investment Training Associates is a partnership between several organisations who have joined forces to offer high-quality training in the field of sustainable investments. The organisations responsible for the website management and marketing of the platform’s courses are SRI-Connect in the UK and Big Green Tree Media AB in Sweden.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Course Events

If you sign up for one of our course events, we collect the personal data of the course participant, including their name, job title and email address, as well as the data of the person paying for the course. These details may also include the person’s organisation name and address, as well as corporate details for invoicing purposes. 

If the event is held at a physical location, when refreshments are offered, we may also collect dietary requirements for the participant in order to be able to provide appropriate catering. The dietary requirements may reflect the health status of the participant. 

We collect personal data of participants for running the course event as well as to provide follow up information. After the course instance, we may store the personal data of participant in order to propose relevant updates or future course events. 

We collect and store invoicing data for payment and accounting purposes. We may also use the contact details to propose updates and new course events. 

Contact forms & newsletter subscription

When you fill in your personal contact data on our site via the contact form we may keep the form submissions for a certain period for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.

When you fill in your personal contact data on our site to sign up for our newsletter, your data will be stored by Mailchimp. Mailchimp’s privacy policy is available here. We will use the data to send you regular updates, including information about our upcoming course events.

Comments

If you leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies & Analytics

If you leave a comment or sign up to a course event on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We use Google Analytics for statistical purposes. This service helps us ensure that the site is relevant for our visitors. Google Analytics tracks data about you by storing cookies on your computers.

Who we share your data with

The data collected on this website is shared with SRI-Connect and Big Green Tree Media AB, which each have their own privacy policy, for the purpose of driving the activities described herein. The organisations only share data related to SITA-Training for the purpose of the production of educational content, the delivery of the course events proposed on this site or concluded under the SITA umbrella as well as to market the educational content and the course events.

When the course events involve other partners or third-party educational training providers, we may share the personal data of the participants to be used only in conjunction with the course events that they have been registered for. 

We may health-related information with catering firms for the purpose of delivery only. The catering company will not be allowed to share or store this information beyond the event the information has been recorded for. 

Our site uses plugins such as WooCommerce and the Event Calendar and the Event Calendar Tickets extension in order to process course registrations and payments. These plugin providers help us store this information but are not allowed to use the data for their own purposes. 

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For course participants, we will store the information indefinitely in order to maintain a record of educational achievement, unless the participant opts-out. 

For the person or organisation paying for the event, we will store the payment-related and invoicing information as long as required by the relevant jurisdiction and tax authorities requirement in the country where the transaction is recorded (Sweden or UK). 

We will never store health-related information beyond the course event for which the health information was intended. 

What rights you have over your data

If you have signed up as a course participant, if you have paid for a course event, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you have signed up for our newsletter, you may opt-out at any time by following a link at the bottom of the newsletter. Your data will be stored temporarily by Mailchimp for monitoring purposes, so that we do not send you information by mistake. 

Where we send your data

Our website is hosted by FastComet, a US-headquartered company, on a server located within the European Union (in Germany). The data of the website stays within the European Union.

Mailchimp is a US-headquartered company and has put in place a data processing addendum that allows us to use their services to store data in the US.
